BAD BRAINS LEAD SINGER EXPLODES OUT OF CONTROL BEFORE TAKING THE STAGE IN MONTREAL PUTTING THEIR DATES WITH THE BEASTIE BOYS ON HOLD

A shocking, explosive scenario has sidetracked the BAD BRAINS much- anticipated tour vith the Beastie Boys. The BAD BRAINS, one of hardcore punk's seminal groups, recently reunited to record GOD OF LOVE for Maverick Records, which was released just last week. The band had just completed a mostly sold-out headlining tour of U.S. clubs, and was due to begin opening a series of arena gigs with the Beastie Boys when a bizarre incident took place. Minutes before their set was to begin last night in Montreal, BAD BRAINS lead singer HR went from volatile to uncontrollable, and refused to go onstage for what was to be the first night of their tour with the Beastie Boys. When BAD BRAINS manager Anthony Countey went to retrieve HR for the show, HR flew into a rage and physically assaulted Countey. In the process breaking his nose and inflicting other injuries on him. Apparently, HR also struck his brother, BAD BRAlNS drummer Earl Hudson. It is not known at this time what caused HR to explode in this way.

Although HR was reportedly led away from the venue in handcuffs following the incident, he was released later on that night. However, when HR attempted to leave Canada and return to his home in Los Angeles, he was stopped at the Canadian border for possession of marijuana. He has since been allowcd to leave and is apparently on his way home. There is no further report as to what type of charges will be filed against the singer.

Although there is no word on whether or not the BAD BRAINS plan to rejoin the Beastie Boys tour at some point, tbe three ranaining band members, Darryl Jenifer, Dr. Know and Hudson, are on their way back to their hometown of Woodstock, NY. The band and all parties involved are reportedly stunned and extremely concemed about HR's emotional state.

Stay tuned for furtber developments...
