Questions, questions

Just what is LawServ, anyway?

LawServ is the first online recruiting service exclusively for attorneys. It will allow individual attorneys to post their resumes, interests, location preferences, job history--virtually whatever they want--in a completely searchable database, which potential employers--including law firms, corporations, and non-profit organizations--will be able to scan at their leisure.

Let's say some employer likes my resume. Then what?

He sends you email telling you what he wants to do. You log on, check your mail, and take it from there.

What about confidentiality?

No problem. All individual attorneys will use code names, both for their records and their mail. You can post as much or little information as you like. Your current employer, if he happens to have an account, will not be able to view your record in any guise whatever.

Suppose I'm not looking for a job?

All the better, if you still want to know what's going on. LawServ allows you to keep up on the market without bothering to visit headhunters, read ads, or adopt any of the inefficient job search techniques you've unfortunately become accustomed to.

What do I get besides email service?

Lots of stuff. You can search for potential employers just as they can search for you. Up-to-date firm resumes, department breakdowns, clients represented and salary information, among other things, will all be at your disposal.

OK. How much?

Ten bucks a month, inclusive. First month free. Hard to go wrong.

What happened to the "e" at the end of your company name?

How many digits in a local phone number? Dial 1-800-LAWSERV and you'll see what I mean.

What makes the sky blue?

Raleigh scattering.
